Look how important teachers were for getting women in STEM careers. I wouldn’t have become a math major without one of my profs.

Researchers look at how those in science, technology, engineering, and math careers first became interested in the STEM field, finding that initial sparks differ between the sexes.
It would be interesting to revisit the survey in a generation, once the internet has had time to shape young minds and kindle that initial intellectual curiosity about science.
